Hand and Nail Care

Hands are the most visible parts of you, but they also take a lot of abuse. You use them in everyday activity, and yet, they are the ultimate accessories. You must give them the same attention you give your face.

Hand Care:

* While washing hands use luke warm water & a mild soap.

* Apply any baby oil or lotion to your hands before going to bed.

* Massage your hands with curds or Vaseline at least twice a week.

* Smoothen your hands, by applying equal quantities of lemon, honey & almond oil.

* For rough hands, apply olive oil and few drops of glycerine.

* Slough off dead skin cells with a solution made of sea salt lemon. Brush it into hands with an old toothbrush. Do this twice a week to soften hands and remove discoloration.

* Warm a cup of milk in the microwave for thirty seconds (or until warm, but comfortable to the touch). Soak your hands for five minutes to strengthen nails and hydrate skin. Not only is milk loaded with lactic acid, a natural alpha hydroxy acid that gently exfoliates dead skin, but also its high calcium content will strengthen fragile nails.

* Hand Massage
To stimulate circulation, rub your palm over the back of the hand and then repeat with the other hand. This movement is very similar to washing your hands and it does not only stimulate circulation, it also warms the hands.

Nail Care:

*Nails should be kept clean.

*Apply nail polish minimally or when the occasion demands.

*Gelatine plays an important role in nail care. Drink gelatine in hot water or milk every night. It gives nourishment to your nails.

*Brittle nails can be caused by vitamin deficiency or extreme dryness. Vitamin A, D & B complex are good for nails. Rubbing your nails with warm olive oil, reduces dryness.

*To lengthen your nails rub lemon juice every night.

*Rub a slice of potato on your nails to remove slight stains.

*Manicure is good for hands & nails.

  4. If you want smooth and fine nails, then take a cup of olive oil. Now dip your nails in the oil for about 30 min. After removing your nails from the oil, you can observe that your nails will be smooth and fine.

To keep your nails at their strongest, avoid filing in a back-and-forth motion, move only in one direction. Avoid filing nails just after getting out of a shower or bath as, wet nails break more easily.
Rub a small amount of petroleum jelly into your cuticle and the skin surrounding your nails before going to bed, this helps in keeping your nails hydrated. If you hate using petroleum jelly, then substitute it with Castor oil. Castor oil is thick and contains vitamin E, which is great for your cuticles. You can also use olive oil

White bands across the nails are a result of protein deficiency.
A lack of sufficient hydrochloric acid can cause splitting nails.
Lack of vitamin B12 can lead to dryness, very rounded and curved ends and darkening of nails.

Nail Brightener-Dip a nail brush into equal parts lemon juice, equal parts white vinegar (half of each liquid-this helps lifts stains) and warm water. Brush over stained or yellow nails. Wait 1 minute, then rinse.

Remember to let each coat dry well before applying another coat. If one layer is still tacky when a second coat is applied, that also can cause bubbling

A delay of 4-5 days may be fine but if it exceeds 8 days, then it's certainly a cause for concern. In this post, I'll be sharing highly effective Indian home remedies for your delayed periods . I'd been a long sufferer of irregular periods during my teenage to early twenties. Get rid of head lice with these home remedies

Lice infestation is such a bothersome, distracting and embarrassing problem. Surely everyone harbors them at one time or the other. It is usually common among school children but soon spreads to other members of the family. Contrary to popular belief, it is not a sign of poor hygiene, as lice are not fussy whether they lay their eggs in clean or dirty hair. But yes, a dirty scalp can well serve as a perfect breeding ground for these tiresome creatures. Lice get transferred easily from child to child owing to the close contact of heads, during play, while sitting together or by sharing caps. Though there are many chemical and herbal over-the-counter preparations to remove lice, it is better to refrain from using them for they might also remove a good bit of your hair, while others could have a drying effect on the hair.  There are many home-remedies which do work well but the age-old method of regular combing with a close-toothed comb on all counts, is the most eff...
