Cool ways to beauty in summer

Summer is often dreaded by women. They have horrifying pictures about themselves suffering from prickly heat & boils, a face breaking into pimples, blackheads & smelling of sweat. But today’s beauty products and well-documented beauty secrets along with a few changes in the daily routine promise to make anyone a luscious beauty even at the peak of summer.

* Rush and panic in the morning will leave you hot and exhausted at the end of the day. But if you have the habit or waking up early, things will move smoothly for the rest of the day, since you will have plenty of time to organize your day. So, take the day calmly and avoid rushing through the morning chores. Early to bed and early to rise should be your motto.
* The secret of looking cool and fresh in summer lies in the cleansing routines. After a light morning exercise in the open air, go in for a nice luxurious bath. Even in the summer months, it is better if the water used for bath is at body temperature. Add bath salts, mint leaves, slices of cucumber to your bath water for a refreshed feeling. Use fragrant soaps with tangy undertones or flower scents which will harmonize with the weather.
* If your face feels tight and dry after the bath, dab on a moisturizer. Do this lightly to avoid looking greasy and shiny after a while.
* Summer brings its quota of pimples and blackheads, if one is not careful. The blocking of the skin pores is the chief reason for this problem. So it is advisable to follow a regular and meticulous cleansing routine to deal with this. Use good quality cleansers, toners and astringents for this purpose. Identify your skin type and treat it accordingly. Deep cleansing at night, and the use of a cleansing mask, at least once a week, will help to keep your skin clean and fresh.
* Keep a box of freshen-up tissue papers handy to wipe off dust and perspiration from face and hands. When the heat becomes intolerable, take an ice cube and rub it on the inside of your wrists and nape. This will perk you up.
* If your hands do heavy duty work, they need extra care to ensure smoothness. Rub in a nourishing cream and cover your arms with cotton gloves.
* After a long tiring routine, soak feet in a basin of warm soapy water. Dab dry, powder lightly and slip on a pair of clean cotton socks. There are special foot and hand lotions which ensure that the skin in these areas is kept supple and smooth.
* Another way of creating a natural hair-conditioning effect is by keeping your head wet. After a shampoo, don’t dry your hair completely. Just pat it with a towel to soak in extra water. Set the hair in style and let it take its own time to dry naturally. Besides keeping your cool, the hair will remain bouncy and manageable.
* Protect your hair from the sun. Overexposure to sunlight can turn the layers of hair from black to brown in color. You may also get split ends due to excessive dryness.
* Strapped dresses, culottes, shorts and T-shirts will keep the heat off. Always wear cotton garments and wash clothes after every use.

Give heed to your body’s needs this summer. Pamper and pet it, luxuriate it in summer lotion and talcs, refresh and nourish it… and surely you will look stunning, smart, chic and cool this summer.See also: Some tips for summer

Let your skin breathe and use sheer makeup that serves more than one purpose. It is important to keep the humidity locked in as sweating dries skin out. So, lock away your foundation for the season and use a light moisturizer with sun block instead. Remember, you need to hydrate your skin both internally and externally.Instead of using foundation to cover up freckles, use translucent tinted powder to blot the skin and add color to it. f you must apply foundation, mix it with loose powder to keep you looking fresh throughout the day.

Water! This is crucial for those of you who love the sun and sand in summertime. At least 8 glasses of water are needed. If possible, carry around a bottle of water with you and remember to drink at least once every 30 min. Water not only helps you feel fresh, but it also prevents dehydration and will help wash out a lot of toxins.

Highly Effective Indian Home remedies For Delayed Periods

Delayed periods or Irregular menstrual periods have become very common these days for a lot of women in their reproductive age and they suffer great agonies when their period does not come on time. A delay of 4-5 days may be fine but if it exceeds 8 days, then it's certainly a cause for concern. In this post, I'll be sharing highly effective Indian home remedies for your delayed periods . I'd been a long sufferer of irregular periods during my teenage to early twenties. I've tried most of the recipes here, along with Kapalabhati pranayama, yoga poses, mudras and other lifestyle habits. Now my periods are extremely regular like clockwork; not a day less or more than 28. When I look back, I'm surprised how I managed those years of anxiety and fear about my late periods.

The ache of acne (pimples)

Acne is often the bane of a pretty face. It is painful more emotionally than physically, for the scar that it leaves behind can last for a lifetime, adding to one’s miserable look & feeling. No doubt many expensive skin care clinics have mushroomed in ever nook & corner, offering to clear all the scars & blemishes on the face, but they are very expensive & charge exorbitant price for each sitting; not everyone can afford them. So why not try out this simple skin care regimen to minimize the damage caused by acne & as far as possible prevent its eruption.

Aspirin for acne-prone skin

Aspirin has been around for a long time and its health benefits are wide and varied. Aspirin , or acetylsalicylic acid is a salicylate drug, often used as an analgesic to relieve minor aches and pains , as an antipyretic to reduce fever , and as an anti-inflammatory medication. Aspirin's greatest benefit is reducing cardiovascular events including heart attacks and strokes. According to the American Heart Assoc. virtually all women are at risk of heart disease and doctors should more strongly consider prescribing a daily aspirin for their female patients. There is growing evidence to suggest regular aspirin use may reduce cancer and dementia as well. Investigators from the Women's Health Study have reported important new findings demonstrating that aspirin reduces the risk of a first stroke in women. When given to someone immediately after a heart attack, aspirin decreases death by 25%.

I Tried a Headache Balm and Ended Up with Rashes

I do have this habit of slathering pain balms whenever I have a headache. But never did I get a skin reaction or rashes from it. It so happened that I had an extremely severe headache a few months ago.  The pain was so unbearable that I gingerly reached out for a pain balm kept on my bedside table and kept on slathering it repeatedly all over the temples of my forehead. Next morning, after I woke up, I found that the skin on my forehead was peeling off and worse there were red rashes!  This was the first time in my life that I was getting rashes from applying a pain balm on my forehead !  I have never had any pain balm allergy or as such!  Side-effects due to application of a pain balm  was something I've never come across all these years! I usually use pain balms of reputed companies – my usual favourites are Tiger balm, Amrutanjan, Zandu balm and Sloan’s balm.  This time I had used Tiger balm. But why did it  give me rashes now, when I had used it...
