Concentration

Concentration is the key to success in most spheres. To achieve something, you need to be able to concentrate on your aims and your immediate tasks. It is one of the hardest lessons to learn which we try to do right from childhood.

We all feel, at sometime or the other, that our concentration could be improved. There are no miraculous shortcuts to this power. Although a degree of ability to concentrate is inbuilt, everyone has to work at improving these skills according to the needs of their ambitions.

TO IMPROVE CONCENTRATION

1. Remove all negative factors. Ensure that your workplace is organized so that you won’t keep mentally tidying it. Most people prefer silence. Make yourself comfortable and warm; discomfort or cold will distract you and lower your productivity.

2. Remove other problems from your mind. Deal with them before concentrating on your main object of the day. Failing which, write it down with a note on how to deal with them. Put it away from your mind.

3. Get plenty of sleep. Lack of sleep can be stress inducing. Stress blurs the mind and its reaction. Prolonged sleep is also not good for it decreases energy for concentration and achievement.

  1. The brain is a muscle and must be exercised. Do an activity for say, half an hour a day that exercises the brain. I find that Sudoku works for me but you might find something else that helps

Ensure to eat breakfast in the morning - that heightens your concentration during the day!
Make sure you have had plenty of sleep (7-8 hours). As lack of sleep causes lack of concentration!

First of all, relax. Relaxing helps concentration. Make sure you try to focus in a clean area where there are few distractions. No music, phone, computer, etc. Also, get enough sleep. Lack of sleep makes it so that you lack concentration as well. It sounds like most of your problem with concentration is inward, rather than your surroundings... so focus on focusing your mind. Think about what you're reading. If you get sidetracked, pull yourself back to the reading. Keep your finger on the spot you read, tracing it beneath each line. Such a physical reminder of what you should be doing mentally will help.

Chewing gum also helps in increasing concentration, along with giving you a fresher breath. Not only this, it also helps you slim down by stimulating your brain’s satiety centres. It also strengthens the gums in your mouth. But, it is best to stick to the sugar-free ones and not overdo it!

Delayed periods or Irregular menstrual periods have become very common these days for a lot of women in their reproductive age and they suffer great agonies when their period does not come on time. A delay of 4-5 days may be fine but if it exceeds 8 days, then it's certainly a cause for concern. In this post, I'll be sharing highly effective Indian home remedies for your delayed periods . I'd been a long sufferer of irregular periods during my teenage to early twenties. I've tried most of the recipes here, along with Kapalabhati pranayama, yoga poses, mudras and other lifestyle habits. Now my periods are extremely regular like clockwork; not a day less or more than 28. When I look back, I'm surprised how I managed those years of anxiety and fear about my late periods.

The ache of acne (pimples)

Acne is often the bane of a pretty face. It is painful more emotionally than physically, for the scar that it leaves behind can last for a lifetime, adding to one’s miserable look & feeling. No doubt many expensive skin care clinics have mushroomed in ever nook & corner, offering to clear all the scars & blemishes on the face, but they are very expensive & charge exorbitant price for each sitting; not everyone can afford them. So why not try out this simple skin care regimen to minimize the damage caused by acne & as far as possible prevent its eruption.

Aspirin for acne-prone skin

Aspirin has been around for a long time and its health benefits are wide and varied. Aspirin , or acetylsalicylic acid is a salicylate drug, often used as an analgesic to relieve minor aches and pains , as an antipyretic to reduce fever , and as an anti-inflammatory medication. Aspirin's greatest benefit is reducing cardiovascular events including heart attacks and strokes. According to the American Heart Assoc. virtually all women are at risk of heart disease and doctors should more strongly consider prescribing a daily aspirin for their female patients. There is growing evidence to suggest regular aspirin use may reduce cancer and dementia as well. Investigators from the Women's Health Study have reported important new findings demonstrating that aspirin reduces the risk of a first stroke in women. When given to someone immediately after a heart attack, aspirin decreases death by 25%.
