Memory, like every other faculty need to be exercised constantly and nurtured carefully, and one of the ways to do it is the age-old method of memorizing and recalling.

1)  Make a list of things that need to be accomplished. This prevents worry and keeps the mind free.

3)  Sometimes when something is asked to you, the answer is on the tip of your tongue but it somehow eludes you. I

n such cases, do not rack your brains. Just relax and think something else and in a few minutes there is a possibility that it will come to you in a flash.

4)  Keep mind active. Play memory games or solve crosswords and puzzles.

5)  Memorizing a poem or literary passage is another excellent way to boost memory.

6)  Physical exercise helps to a great extent in keeping the mind healthy and active.

7)  It is believed that visualizing a larger than life image of what you wish to remember helps memory.

8)  Writing down whatever needs to be remembered can be practiced initially but this habit should be discarded as soon as one’s memory improves.

9)  Planning the day and being organized is a great aid to memory – the last minute rush can only lead to forgetfulness and confusion.

Home remedies for sleeplessness

The day dawns beautifully for those who have had a night of good sleep. But the same day drags on for those who have spent a disturbing, sleepless night. Sleep is a biological necessity even as eating and drinking are. Sufficient sleep renders a person normally sociable, lively and high-spirited. It’s a nature’s way of rejuvenating the person for the next day. Realize all this, and make sleep a physiological habit. The consequences of long time sleep deprivation can be very grave. Lack of sleep takes its toll on the skin and hair. It causes acne-breakouts and makes one look aged and haggard beyond years. Experts opine that during sleep as our metabolic rate falls, blood goes to those areas which need the most repairing. This also steps up the production of collagen and keratin, which aid the regeneration of skin cells and help resist premature ageing. So for a younger looking and a problem free skin you need to have a good quality of sleep every night.
