Homemade packs for darkened neck

The beauty of the neck is often flawed by dark patches and spots around it; especially the nape of the neck is more prone to darkening.

This could be due of pigmentation, dead cells clinging to the surface of your skin, dirt and grime which gets embedded in the skin because of dust and pollution and neglecting neck care.

Skin allergy caused by constant wearing of ornaments around your neck could also be the culprit. It is all the more embarrassing if this discoloration is too distracting. And if this marked difference between the skin colors of the face and the neck makes you overtly self-conscious, don’t just sit back, do something about it.
woman scrubbing neckA crepey neck can be improved by regular cleansing, and by scrubbing with a soft nail-brush (try the plastic bristled ones) to work away dead skin and improve the circulation. Also cream it lavishly for softness and smoothness .You could also bleach the skin around your neck to improve its color.
Want to try your hand at some home-based treatments for your darkened neck? Then treat it with some of these packs made from mundane household items from your kitchen and bathroom.
* Dip a towel in hot water. Wring the towel to squeeze out excess water. Now dab this towel over the darkened areas so as to give steam to your neck, almost like a sauna.
Repeat several times. This not just lightens the skin discoloration but also slightly melts the fat around your neck.
* Grind fenugreek (methi) leaves to a fine paste and extract its juice. Mix this juice with besan (gram flour) or powdered sprouts of your choice. Apply liberally on your neck and let it stay for 15 – 20 minutes. Then wash off.
* Apply Rice Kanji water over darkened areas of your neck for about 15 minutes. You could even apply this to any of your darkened areas such as armpits, under your thighs etc.
* Using light strokes with the palms of your hands, massage your neck with fresh, preferably home made butter for 5 minutes at least once in a week. Use upward movements and don’t pull or stretch the skin unnecessarily.
* Mix vinegar with a coarse powder of wheat grains. Apply for about 15 minutes and then wash off.
* Take the squeezed half of a lemon and sprinkle table salt and turmeric over it. Rub this lemon over the darkened areas of your neck.
* Mix multani mitti (fuller earth) with rose water and apply it on your neck and wash off after 15 minutes.

Another option is to use a natural product with skin regenerating properties. A friend had amazing results with Palm'Hydra mask. This is based with castor oil and French green clay. These ingredients would make it a great treat for your skin.

Stop ignoring your skin from the neck down Women commonly focus on their face - especially as they age - because it's the first area of the skin to show any signs of aging. However the arms, legs, elbows, knees and feet can also develop unattractive rough patches, a dull, sallow color and a scaly alligator-like texture. The best defense against unattractive skin is moisture.

apply aloe vera gel on the affected area. This is something that you will be able to do everyday without any effort. For better results, apply it at before you go to sleep. Alternatively, you can apply raw potato juice to your neck as it has natural bleaching agents. If you want to make the skin of your neck smooth along with lightening the color, try applying a cream made up of equal parts of almond paste, honey, milk powder, olive oil, and lemon juice on his neck. After applying it, see that you leave it on for at least 30 minutes. Try and apply this paste on your neck at least once a week, if not more. Apart from all this, make sure that you wash your neck thoroughly everyday

Aspirin , or acetylsalicylic acid is a salicylate drug, often used as an analgesic to relieve minor aches and pains , as an antipyretic to reduce fever , and as an anti-inflammatory medication. Aspirin's greatest benefit is reducing cardiovascular events including heart attacks and strokes. According to the American Heart Assoc. virtually all women are at risk of heart disease and doctors should more strongly consider prescribing a daily aspirin for their female patients. Investigators from the Women's Health Study have reported important new findings demonstrating that aspirin reduces the risk of a first stroke in women. Aloevera, the wonder herb

Of all the herbs available in the kitchen garden, aloe is perhaps the richest in healing properties and has been rightly named the “first-aid” plant. It has moisturizing and emollient properties and is used in cosmetic creams, sun-lotions, shaving creams and face packs. It can easily be cultivated as a house-plant in a sunny warm spot with good drainage. Cosmetologists mix aloe with several other herbs and draft fancy names for it. Then these “herbal” avatars are sold at exorbitant prices. Growing a plant and using fresh gel is much more effective than bottled gel, simply because it is alive and therefore is more potent. It is the only plant whose extract is applied directly from plant to face in its natural and purest form.

I Tried a Headache Balm and Ended Up with Rashes

I do have this habit of slathering pain balms whenever I have a headache. But never did I get a skin reaction or rashes from it. It so happened that I had an extremely severe headache a few months ago.  The pain was so unbearable that I gingerly reached out for a pain balm kept on my bedside table and kept on slathering it repeatedly all over the temples of my forehead. Next morning, after I woke up, I found that the skin on my forehead was peeling off and worse there were red rashes!  This was the first time in my life that I was getting rashes from applying a pain balm on my forehead !  I have never had any pain balm allergy or as such!  Side-effects due to application of a pain balm  was something I've never come across all these years! I usually use pain balms of reputed companies – my usual favourites are Tiger balm, Amrutanjan, Zandu balm and Sloan’s balm.  This time I had used Tiger balm. But why did it  give me rashes now, when I had used it...
