Home remedies for freckles

face with frecklesA face with too many freckles is not a pretty sight to behold. These appear as light or dark brown spots beneath the surface of the skin, particularly on the cheeks and the nose. Uneven distribution of melanin pigment is the cause of freckles. Unprotected and prolonged sun-exposure can make them more conspicuous. If they are few in number and not so prominent, it is not such a big deal, you can either ignore them or camouflage them with makeup. But if they are dark brown, too profuse and are very striking to others, then it can bother you and affect your self-esteem. You can then opt for a laser treatment to tackle them.

Even Retin-A works well on freckles. Your dermatologist may be able to guide you on this. Also make sure that you are giving adequate protection to your skin by using a sun bloc with SPF 15 or more.
Freckles are not so common amongst dark, dusky or olive skins as compared to that of lighter colored skins. If your problem is not too severe you can easily lighten these freckles with a few home-remedies.

* The cheapest and the most easily available remedy for freckles is buttermilk. Mix a tablespoonful of oatmeal with enough buttermilk to make a smooth consistency paste. Apply this on your face. Leave it on for 20 minutes. Wash off with cold water.
* When going out, apply a moisturizer and a thin film of foundation cream in a matching shade to your skin color. This will work as a barrier to your sensitive skin. It will also provide a camouflage for the freckles.
* Rubbing fresh Aloe vera juice on spotty areas and continuing with this for some time will gradually fade them.
* Lemon juice also works wonders on these spots. Just dab fresh lemon juice on the spots. Leave on for 10 minutes or half an hour if your skin is not very sensitive or allergic to it. Then wash off. Lemon juice is an excellent skin lightener.
* And how can one forget the benefits of using honey on the skin. Take ½ a tsp of honey. Mix it with half a tsp of lemon juice. Lightly warm it and smear over your freckled face. This will help you immensely in reducing these irksome spots.
* Massaging your face with Vitamin-E oil a few minutes before going to bed can also help.
* 1 tsp of cucumber juice with milk applied over freckles is also quite effective.
* You can also try using these face packs or masks: Cucumber and yoghurt mask Chamomile mask and Apple mask . Also you may choose from these face packs meant for getting rid of blemishes and spots.

Lemon and limes have high acidic contents. It is this acid that exfoliates the top layer of skin, increases cell turnover, and over time helps to fade pigmentation and freckles.

Probably the most useful lifestyle changes you can make are to apply hot compresses to pustules and cysts and never to pick or squeeze pimples. Playing with or popping pimples, no matter how careful and clean you are, nearly always makes bumps stay redder and bumpier longer. People often refer to redness as "scarring," but fortunately it usually isn't in the permanent sense. It's just a mark that takes months to fade if left entirely alone.

Lemon juice Lightens freckles and mild pigmentation over time. Cut the lemon or lime into slices, and rub a slice directly onto the affected skin. You can also squeeze the juice first if you prefer.Dab juice straight onto freckles or dark blemishes. (But whatever way, remember to use fresh! This is all-natural and will not stay effective for long.)

Leave on skin until dry. Wash off with water.

Why it helps: Lemon and limes have high acidic content. It is this acid that exfoliates the top layer of skin, increases cell turnover, and over time helps to fade pigmentation and freckles.

it is possible to get rid of that sun spot with zenmed's scars and hyperpigmentation treatment kit. From my experience I would say that it is a very good and powerful formula for getting rid of scar marks, dark spots and sun spots in a short span of time. Using it just for a week would definitely leave your face clear and without any spots.

freckles are spots caused by sun damage and even though anyone can get them, despite different nationalities or skin tones, it's generally very fair skinned ppl who get more of them. and it mostly develops when they're young and they have it for the rest of their life. not many ppl get them later on in their life, like adolescence.

I tried the lemon juice thing for my freckles, because they became extremly dark from the tanning bed... I've been applying it twice a day for three days now and there almost gone.. At night I leave the lemon juice on my face and wash it off in the morning,, My face is silky smooth .. so no worry on drying it out.... It also is helping clear away the black heads that were on my nose and shrinking my pores on my face.. I tried using facial fade creams to get rid of my freckles before, all they really did was make me look ghost white.. with the lemon juice its just clearing the freckles , but leaving the tan on my face.. I love it ! I didn't think it would actually work, but it has. I have been using lemon juice from a bottle called REAL LEMON..

  38. I spent my entire life hating my freckles. I thought they made me ugly, and I used to stay up late wishing they'd go away. If i had found this two years ago I'd be rubbing lemon juice all over them right now. However, Now that I'm 16, I've grown into them. When my boyfriend kisses me he kisses my freckles and calls me beautiful. They add character and beauty, I wouldn't trade them for anything. They are a part of me.

Rub your freckles with fresh cut eggplant every day. You should see a difference in a week or so. Or rub on fresh crushed cranberries daily and leave on for fifteen minutes, rinse with cool water and pat dry. 2) The more sugar that you eat, the darker your freckles will be! This is a scientific fact. So, eliminate refined sugar and watch your freckles fade. 3) Now this is the killer! If you are really determined to make your freckles lighter than ever, try this old time remedy: Put six ounces of urine in a jar with one tablespoon of white vinegar and a pinch of salt. Cover the jar let it sit for twenty four hours. Take a cotton ball and pat on the solution. Do this until the freckles have faded enough for you

Avoid the sun, or you will develop more freckles. You can apply any foundation that matches your skin color to conceal freckles. You could also apply a little concealer before applying foundation, if you feel that the foundation is not concealing your freckles enough.

apply sunscreen on your face fifteen minutes before stepping out. Avoid being out in the sun in the afternoon, when it is at its harshest. While in the sun, you could wear a cap. Apply a mixture of lemon and honey (equal amounts) to your face, and wash off after ten minutes. This usually suits all skin types.

Remove freckles--. Want to prevent its development, to avoid spreading on the skin, you get an egg white, with half a teaspoon lemon juice and almonds pounded to a pulp, to apply to the skin with freckles. Each week you should do several times, effectively faster.
