You need not ban sugar from your life completely. In fact, there are certain good things about sugar for you to consider. For instance, aloe-sugar syrup works as a good antidote for pre-menstrual syndrome (PMS) and delayed periods. If you are still keen on avoiding sugar in your diet, then why not consider using it as a beauty aid.
Sugar based scrubs and exfoliating masks are the rage these days. This exfoliant suggested for shedding flaky skin is quite popular. All you have to do is blend one part sugar to four parts of any body lotion (you can mix it up right in your palm). Then smooth the mixture on elbows, heels, hands and any rough parts of your skin. The more you rub, the more the sugar dissolves, so you don’t run the risk of over-exfoliating. Alternatively, you can use olive oil or any vegetable oil with sugar and massage well into your hands and other rough areas, including your dark knees. These will not just clean your hands and knees of any ingrained dirt but will impart smoothness as well. And if you choose to remove the superfluous fuzz from your arms and legs by waxing, you know that sugar is one of the key ingredients used in preparing the wax.
Sugar Bath
For a kinder, gentler head-to-toe scrubbing, mix a cup of sugar with enough water to make a paste. Then, use fingers or a washcloth to work it over the skin.
Wait, there’s more. Here’s a tip to keep your lipstick from chafing off. After you finish applying your lipstick, you have to put a bit of sugar on your lips, keep it on for 30 seconds and then lick it off. Now, isn’t that an easy, inexpensive way of retaining your lipstick for a longer period.
Sugar IS great for your skin! Not only does it exfoliate and smell like heaven, it is antibacterial in nature, so you are cleansing your skin, pores, bod. A little lick here and there won't kill ya!
