Homemade hydrating masks for winter

Hydrating masks or water based masks are ideal for winter. As your skin gets too dry, flaky and itchy this season, you need to do away with all those hardening clay masks and instead switch over to water based ones which help retain the moisture from the skin and prevent further moisture loss. These homemade masks do just that. They contain ingredients such as natural fruit juices, plant extracts and glycerin which act as soothing balms on parched winter skins.

  6. You can apply just the egg yolk (make sure to beat it first) to your face and leave it on for thirty minutes, or you can make a facial mask. The facial mask can consist of egg yolk and honey Let the mask set for 20-30 minutes, then rinse off thoroughly with cold water and pat dry. Don’t forget to moisturize afterward!

Before use, make sure you are not allergic to any ingredient of chosen mask by applying it first on a small skin surface for a few minutes. If skin gets red or irritated, rinse it off as soon as possible and do not apply the mask on you face. Remember to clean up you face before applying the mask.

Quite honestly the skins reproduction needs help, by exfoliating three times a week can make the skin soft and healthy, it will remove the dead cells that cause most of the problems, eat healthy and drink plenty of water, use a non oily moisturizer. Exfoliate rather than using face masks.

Thanks for an informative post for those of us googling 'homemade facial masks' I usually just use whatever I have in my kitchen but that's not much right now, hahaha, so I was looking for ideas. I recall my mom always breaking a vitamin E into her masks :)

'Exfoliate rather than using face masks.' Thanks for your advice. I exfoliate regularly, but as I age I have noticed that my skins needs change in cycles and sometimes, like the wintertime when fireplaces, stoves and heaters are roaring, my skin would love some more moisture.

Gently rub honey mask onto dry, cleansed skin.
For a honey facial, dampen a towel
Microwave the damp towel on high for a few minutes until it is warm and steamy.
Place the towel over your face
Relax for a few minutes while the heat allows the honey to better absorb into the skin.

  22. what you put on your skin has little effect, the effect will by almost doubled if you actually eat it, because the fruits are not easly absorbed by your skin. But i recommend you apply this mask than using artificial masks.

FACE MASK can be done once a week. Make mask by mixing plain oatmeal with water. Oatmeal is soothing, absorbs excess oil, makes skin smoother. Wash face with warm water, apply mask. Leave on for 20 min or until it dries. Rinse off with warm water, Apply toner & moisturizer.
