We all know that the skin around the eyes is the thinnest while that on the soles of our feet is the thickest. However this does not in any way make the skin on the soles immune to problems. In fact, our feet are often bugged by problems of corns and calluses due to one reason or the other. Vagaries of seasons also take their toll. In monsoons, for instance, excessive moisture collected around the toes causes fungal infections. Winters are no good as they tend to give cracked soles and feet.
If you didn’t bother to pamper your feet with relaxing foot baths or foot-soaks, this winter then it’s most likely that your soles have become rough. So help yourself to this remarkable mint sole softener and soften your tootsies. Here’s how to prepare it:
Ingredients:
A few drops of Peppermint oil/Handful of mint (pudina) (पुदीना) leaves
4 tbsp of Brown sugar/sugar
4 tbsp of sweet almond oil/olive oil
4 tbsp of Brown sugar/sugar
4 tbsp of sweet almond oil/olive oil
Method:
Mix brown sugar with sweet almond oil and then add a few drops of peppermint oil. If peppermint oil is unavailable, get a handful of mint leaves; crush them lightly with the back of a spoon. Crushing will bring a bit of oil from the leaves, so avoid chopping or cutting with a knife. Combine the mixture well and gently scrub the feet with this mixture, especially on the rough areas of your feet. Sugar exfoliates, almond oil/olive oil moisturizes and mint leaves/peppermint oil not just refresh your soles but soothe your senses as well.
