Himalaya Herbals’ Purifying neem face wash:Review

Himalaya Herbals’ Purifying neem face wash 72g
Amongst the array of facial cleansers that I have purchased and tried, I have found that Garnier Naturals’ Deep pore exfoliating face wash is the best – it was very effective in oil control during the hot summer months when my skin had become increasingly greasy and unmanageable. Now that summer is over, I wanted to try some ‘natural product’ that could not only cleanse but also help with acne and pimples. So I purchased this Himalaya Herbals’ Purifying neem face wash 72g for Rs.45/- (around $1). It’s a soap-free formulation enriched with awesome herbal ingredients like Neem and turmeric (buy here) that have anti-bacterial and purifying properties. However this cleanser is not 100% natural as methyl paraben and propyl paraben are being used as preservatives.

By the way, I have tried many of Himalayas’ products as well. Himalaya Herbals’ neem face pack/mud pack for instance has had an amazing effect on my complexion and also helped me deal with excessive oiliness and pimples. And it’s almost a month since I am using this purifying neem face wash and it make my face feel fresh and clean by getting rid of grime without drying my skin. Also, I haven’t seen any pimples popping up on my face these days. But it looks to me that it might not be of much help to extremely greasy skins during summer as this gel-like cleanser is meant for all skin types. Also it might not be tackle excess sebum (oil) production that well.

When my skin and hair is oily, I feel as if OPEC is coming over to lay claim to my skin and hair for oil production. I, thankfully, haven’t had that problem since switching to Aveeno cleansers.

Natural products are definitely good for your skin, but not everything is good for all skin types.

Of course natural products are good for your skin! But it sounds like this product is a combination of science and nature. Just like any other product, not everything is good for all skin types. It's important to know what your skin type is and what works with it. Also, if it's natural it's good to do a test on your skin to make sure you don't have any food allergies.

My skin is oily and after trying many face packs I bought Himalaya Gentle Face Wash Gel two years ago. Before that I used Garnier face packs which did not suit to my skin so I replaced it with Himalaya Gentle Face Wash Gel. I like it very much.

found that the face wash contained the extracts of Neem and Turmeric which are beneficial in solving various skin problems such as acne, pimples and redness of the face. My skin is sensitive and often gets red very easily if it comes into contact with any harsh cosmetics. But when I tried this product for the fist time I found that there was no allergic reaction on my face and my skin had become soft, smooth and supple. There was a natural glow of health reflecting on my face. It also removed minor skin blemishes and pimples I had on my face and improved the skin texture.

I have dry skin. but recently i have been getting pimples on my face. i do not know why as my skin is not oily. a salesman at a cosmetic store suggested i buy this neem face wash. i was reluctant at first but then thought of giving it a try. it has just been four days since i have used it so i guess it's too early to see any difference. but does it actually help reduce pimples? i really hope it doesn't cause me any breakouts :O

  16. For the first few weeks when I used this face wash, I didn't get any pimples. But it could have been due to other factors or maybe it was just that phase where pimples disappear by themselves. I haven't really used this face wash again as it doesn't lather much and you have to use a lot of water to get it off your face - you know what I mean- a slippery, gooey kind of consistency that doesn't give a cleansed feel.

The leaves of the neem tree have antibacterial and antiviral properties, and are often used in cosmetic and skin treatment preparations.

Aspirin for acne-prone skin

Aspirin has been around for a long time and its health benefits are wide and varied. Aspirin , or acetylsalicylic acid is a salicylate drug, often used as an analgesic to relieve minor aches and pains , as an antipyretic to reduce fever , and as an anti-inflammatory medication. Aspirin's greatest benefit is reducing cardiovascular events including heart attacks and strokes. According to the American Heart Assoc. virtually all women are at risk of heart disease and doctors should more strongly consider prescribing a daily aspirin for their female patients. There is growing evidence to suggest regular aspirin use may reduce cancer and dementia as well. Investigators from the Women's Health Study have reported important new findings demonstrating that aspirin reduces the risk of a first stroke in women. When given to someone immediately after a heart attack, aspirin decreases death by 25%.

Lemon as a beauty aid

The diminutive lemon is a very versatile beauty-aid and this cheap and golden-coloured fruit has excellent properties for enhancing your looks. Simple lemon-based preparations, you can mix in your own kitchen, will surely bring a dramatic transformation in your beauty regimen.

Aloevera, the wonder herb

Of all the herbs available in the kitchen garden, aloe is perhaps the richest in healing properties and has been rightly named the “first-aid” plant. It has moisturizing and emollient properties and is used in cosmetic creams, sun-lotions, shaving creams and face packs. It can easily be cultivated as a house-plant in a sunny warm spot with good drainage. Cosmetologists mix aloe with several other herbs and draft fancy names for it. Then these “herbal” avatars are sold at exorbitant prices. Growing a plant and using fresh gel is much more effective than bottled gel, simply because it is alive and therefore is more potent. It is the only plant whose extract is applied directly from plant to face in its natural and purest form.

I Tried a Headache Balm and Ended Up with Rashes

I do have this habit of slathering pain balms whenever I have a headache. But never did I get a skin reaction or rashes from it. It so happened that I had an extremely severe headache a few months ago.  The pain was so unbearable that I gingerly reached out for a pain balm kept on my bedside table and kept on slathering it repeatedly all over the temples of my forehead. Next morning, after I woke up, I found that the skin on my forehead was peeling off and worse there were red rashes!  This was the first time in my life that I was getting rashes from applying a pain balm on my forehead !  I have never had any pain balm allergy or as such!  Side-effects due to application of a pain balm  was something I've never come across all these years! I usually use pain balms of reputed companies – my usual favourites are Tiger balm, Amrutanjan, Zandu balm and Sloan’s balm.  This time I had used Tiger balm. But why did it  give me rashes now, when I had used it...
