Maybelline Whitestay UV compact: Review

Sometime back, Maybelline, New York introduced a new Whitestay UV compact with SPF 18 in India. It comes in five amazing shades – White Ivory, Light Ivory, Natural, Nude and fawn – to suit the variety of Indian skin tones. The compact also has vitamin C which supposedly brightens the skin tone instantly to give visible fairness all day long. The composition is also supposed to keep the oil away from your face leaving it fresh for the day.

My experience: I chose the “Light Ivory” shade, as I felt that it would be most appropriate for my skin tone. I have an extremely oily skin and almost nothing stays on my face for long. But I have to admit that whenever I used this compact, I didn’t have to touch up my face for several hours. Furthermore, it didn’t clog my pores and my face didn’t feel oily at all. Additionally, it really brightened up my dull complexion or rather made me look a tad fairer. The powder itself is silky smooth; it doesn’t settle into the pores or crevices nor does it emphasize any fine lines near the eyes. In fact, it blends wonderfully into the skin without any patches and only a little of it is required to get that glow. It’s truly a wonderful powder for regular use as well as for special occasions. The packaging of the product is really nice & comfy and comes with an easy to use puff and a mirror. For just Rs.150/-, it’s a steal.

Maybelline has also launched an interesting application as a part of its promotion campaign. It’s seen that that most of the time the pictures uploaded on social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter appear dull and dark. This particular application allows users to upload their pictures and brighten it instantly. One also has an option of downloading it on to their desktops. Maybelline is very good, its not the cheapest one of course, but it will last for a long time and you don't have to buy a new one so soon. And the covers are very nice too.

It is a very good brand. Before applying compact, wash your face with a cleansing liquid and dab it with soft tissue / towel.. do not rub the skin as it re-activates oil glands and skin becomes oily again. after that, apply astringent on face with help of cotton sobs and allow it to dry and then apply compact. astringent will not allow the skin oil to surface on skin which clogs the skin pores with makeup

  8. Replace the sponges in your compact on a regular basis. Now and then, toss the whole works and start fresh — the average shelf life for cosmetics is 6 to 12 months.

Thanks for the review. I had my eye on that one. I think the Maybelline lip stains are great!
