How to Camouflage Cellulite

Do you have difficulty hiding an area of dimpled, bumpy skin? Have you tried everything to camouflage the cottage cheese? Most men and women have some degree of cellulite, fatty deposits located in our connective tissue directly beneath the skin. This causes an unwanted effect of rippling on the skins surface, sometimes referred to as orange peel syndrome. Women are most afflicted with this condition, which appears most commonly on the abdomen, thighs, and buttocks. The fatty deposits are difficult to remove and can require drastic changes in life style habits, and in severe cases, surgery. Although there is no fast and easy fix, cellulite can be disguised with a few simple steps.

Many factors can contribute to the development of cellulite, including genetics, diet, and exercise habits. Although some of these factors are out of your control, taking an occasional stroll to the tanning salon is not. A tan has the capability to veil cellulite, which in return, makes your body appear thinner. Any girl will welcome this pleasing after effect. Even adding a bronzer can help blur the appearance of bumps on the surface of your skin. Remember to stick to sunless tanner, which can be purchased at your local drugstore, or airbrushed on at the tanning salon. Getting a legitimate tan the old fashioned way, at the beach, will actually increase the visibility of your cellulite. UV radiation dissolves collagen in the skin, which causes cellulite to appear worse than it actually is.

The most efficient, and practical way to minimize cellulite is by changing your diet and exercising daily. Foods high in fat will only increase the amount of cellulite in your body and will be detrimental to your health. Combining a low-fat diet with strength training can be the best way to see results. Increasing muscle tone and burning fat will help decrease the amount of cellulite in your body, making your skin appear toned and even. You may want to consult a trainer to help you target specific areas of your body that contain cellulite, like the stomach, and thighs. A woman’s body is unique and requires special training in order to see results. It can be difficult to stay with a program designed specifically for your body, but consider working out with other women trying to accomplish the same goal. This will help you development a support system that encourages you to achieve your weight loss goals.

Consider sampling anti-cellulite cream, or lotion. There are several leading brands on the market that promise results. The way these particular products work is through the use of caffeine. Caffeine is considered a diuretic, a drug that increases urination. This causes toxins and fluids to be flushed from the skin and cells. Caffeine is supposed to tighten the skin by removing these harmful toxins from the body. Although results have been seen, they are only temporary.

Sometimes the best way to camouflage unwanted cellulite is to dress appropriately. Wearing short skirts and string bikinis may look like fun, but will do nothing for your self-esteem. Dress appropriately for your age and invest in clothing pieces that will compliment the areas of your body you are proud of. Showing less is more, and this mentality will ultimately help you feel more confident about your body. By wearing clothing that compliments your best features, unwanted cellulite will become less noticeable.

Remember that everyone is prone to cellulite; you are not the only one. Although there are a few temporary fixes to a long-term problem, eating right and exercising can be the best cure for a bad case of cellulite. Stay committed to your healthy routine and you will be in that bikini in no time.
