Goan actress Priyanka Bidye of Aleesha fame is fond of DIY kitchen beauty remedies. For getting rid of blemishes and unsightly scars, she shares with us a wonderful grandma's beauty recipe. " Mix 1/2 a tsp of nutmeg (jaiphal) powder to a tsp of honey and apply it to your face. Alternatively, you can pound nutmeg on a stone slab with a little water, extract 1 tsp of this nutmeg paste and mix it with honey and slather it on the problem areas of your face. Doing this regularly will eventually fade nasty marks, particularly the post-acne marks and blemishes and give you the clear skin that you had always desired for.", she advises. "A facepack of Besan (chickpea flour), milk and a little turmeric (haldi) powder also instantly brightens up a dull face and imparts a glow. For healthy, soft hair, I use a homemade hair pack made by mixing  an egg with a cup of yoghurt/curds and a  few tbsps of olive oil. I keep it on for around half an hour and then wash it off with a mild shampoo.", she adds.

Be careful what you apply to skin. Soaps, cleansers, moisturizers, lotions, shampoos
I've had incredible results massaging with essential oils. They are safe, only health promoting and skin healing and they are perfect moisturizers. Oils such as almond, olive, grape seed are good. Almond and grape seed are suitable for every skin type. Quickly and permanently healed ALL of my many (some severe) skin conditions, rid face of all blemishes, uneven skin and scars and gave me a clear, healthy and radiant skin. It's best to thoroughly massage into skin. In just two days you will get dramatic results. Skin will tighten, look and feel smoother and revitalized.
If focus massage on scars, blemishes and make massage more vigorous this will greatly minimize them. Overtime this will rid face of them all.
Skin is always shedding and renewing. massaging very vigorously forces a new, clearer and more even skin to quickly emerge. Overtime it will be made completely even

    keep your stress level low.
and washing your face frequently, contrary to belief, doesnt make your face any cleaner or clearer than it would be if you only washed it less than once a day. thats probably just a lie companies tell you so that you use up more of their product and buy more frequently. and also, there is no magical cure to acne. i use hypoallergenic and fragrance free soap. its as natural and pure as you can get. i have been using this and alot of my scars have lightened up and i do not have as many pimples as i used to. its not a miracle worker(no product is) but it works, has no harsh chemicals or alcoholic ingredients, and is good for your skin. try it out. it also prevents your shoulders and back from getting acne.

My hair , I've also noticed seems to be naturally glossy and shiney, without the use of special expenisve shampoos.

Fruit and vegetables are SO unbelievably brilliant for your skin and health, rich in anitoxiants and packed with loads of vitamins! Here are some espially good fruit an veg to each for good skin, hair and eyes:

Start with really clean skin. Use a mild cleanser, like Biotherm or a super-fatted soap. I find products like Clinique too harsh for skin. The alcohol content is very high. A little alcohol is good, like in witch hazel, which is an excellent toner.

Stress can wreck havoc with skin. Try to keep stressfree with daily quiet time to yourself, maybe 20 minutes of meditation (just sit quietly and try to empty your mind of worries, when one comes up, breathe into it, release it and breathe again), use aromatherapy: chamomile and lavander come in many forms. Get real aromatherapy: from a health food store, not just products that have these fragrances.
real lavender essential oil is very healing to the skin. You can also use zinc oxide based creams at night: they are pretty heavy, but heal skin.Drink lots of water: bottled, or filtered. do not drink coffee or caffinated drinks: soda, alcohol, very sweet.
Eat lots of vegetables and if you have a juicer: make carrot juice. If you do not, try sqeezing a lemon into water at leasat once a day.
Keep your hands very clean, and do not pick your face.

  9. Instead of drinking just water, try switching to green tea. The drink is full of antioxidants which helps your body to fight the acne from the inside.
***Tip: Drop in some lemon juice into your tea. You're digestive system burns off about 80% of the antioxidants in the tea naturally, but the citric acid helps to combat that from happening.

There are 3 things you need to do routinely for good, healthy skin: hydrate, exfoliate and protect. Each day you should cleanse your skin with something gentle. It does NOT have to be expensive. One of the best products is Cetaphil and you can get a large pump at any drug store for about $10. After cleansing your skin in the morning and night, you can apply witch hazel which is a natural toner (don't spend money on brand name toners -- they're just water!). You should apply a moisturizer with SPF after the witch hazel. I think Neutrogena and Olay make great non-comedogenic products (they won’t clog your pores). Two or three times a week, you want to GENTLY exfoliate your face. Which means you need a cleanser with tiny microbeads (not big harsh ones) to help sluff off the dead skin. Over-exfoliating can lead to skin irritation and break-outs and isn’t necessary for every day skin care. If you have acne, you may want to use an acne treatment in addition to this routine....

Here's some of my recipes for homemade masks:

    1. Mash 1/2 cucumber, 2 strawberries, 1 tsp honey and 1 tbsp yogurt in a food processor. Apply to face and allow to dry. Wipe off with a damp wash cloth.

    2. 1 beaten egg white combined with 2 tsp lemon juice will make your pores look really tiny!

    3. Mix 2 tablespoons honey with 2 teaspoons milk. Smooth over face and throat. Leave on for 10 minutes. Rinse off with warm water.

    4. Grate an apple finely and then add about 4 tablespoons of honey. Mix it well apply it to your face wait 10 minutes and rinse.

    5. Combine equal parts baking soda and water in your hand and rub gently on your skin for 2 to 3 minutes. Rinse with warm water.

    6. Mash up a very ripe banana. Add just enough honey to make a soft pulp. Apply over face and hair.

    7. 1 egg
    Juice of one lemon
4 tbsp cup non-fat dry milk powder
    1 tbsp witch hazel
Put all the ingredients in a blender or food processor and mix well. Alternatively, you can blend them together by using a fork or a wire whisk. Apply the mixture to your face, neck and chest and allow it to dry for around 15 minutes. Use the remaining cream as a cleanser to remove the mask. Then, rinse your face thoroughly with warm water and pat dry.

    8. Take a chopped tomato, 1 tbsp of instant oatmeal, 1 tbsp lemon juice. Blend all ingredients just until combined. Apply to skin, making sure the mixture is thick enough to stay on blemished areas. Add a bit more oatmeal to thicken the mask. Leave on 10 mins. Wash with warm water.

  12. You can use Garbanzo beans. Soak them in water for a day or two until they get nice and squishy, and then use it as a "cream" on any imperfections (pimples... whiteheads...etc.) on your face.

Aspirin for acne-prone skin

Aspirin has been around for a long time and its health benefits are wide and varied. Aspirin , or acetylsalicylic acid is a salicylate drug, often used as an analgesic to relieve minor aches and pains , as an antipyretic to reduce fever , and as an anti-inflammatory medication. Aspirin's greatest benefit is reducing cardiovascular events including heart attacks and strokes. According to the American Heart Assoc. virtually all women are at risk of heart disease and doctors should more strongly consider prescribing a daily aspirin for their female patients. There is growing evidence to suggest regular aspirin use may reduce cancer and dementia as well. Investigators from the Women's Health Study have reported important new findings demonstrating that aspirin reduces the risk of a first stroke in women. When given to someone immediately after a heart attack, aspirin decreases death by 25%.

Highly Effective Indian Home remedies For Delayed Periods

Delayed periods or Irregular menstrual periods have become very common these days for a lot of women in their reproductive age and they suffer great agonies when their period does not come on time. A delay of 4-5 days may be fine but if it exceeds 8 days, then it's certainly a cause for concern. In this post, I'll be sharing highly effective Indian home remedies for your delayed periods . I'd been a long sufferer of irregular periods during my teenage to early twenties. I've tried most of the recipes here, along with Kapalabhati pranayama, yoga poses, mudras and other lifestyle habits. Now my periods are extremely regular like clockwork; not a day less or more than 28. When I look back, I'm surprised how I managed those years of anxiety and fear about my late periods.

Simple ways of acquiring a clear & blemish free skin

It is not necessary to go to expensive beauty parlours or buy expensive creams and lotions to acquire a blemish free & clear complexion. A few homemade remedies are provided below which will serve the purpose equally well. Hope this will benefit the readers. 1. Always wash your face with mild soap so that the pores breathe fresh air. For a clear and attractive skin mix besan, turmeric (haldi), lemon and milk together. Make a paste. Apply it on the face. Let it dry. Wash with clean water. Wipe your face with a soft towel and pat it dry.

The ache of acne (pimples)

Acne is often the bane of a pretty face. It is painful more emotionally than physically, for the scar that it leaves behind can last for a lifetime, adding to one’s miserable look & feeling. No doubt many expensive skin care clinics have mushroomed in ever nook & corner, offering to clear all the scars & blemishes on the face, but they are very expensive & charge exorbitant price for each sitting; not everyone can afford them. So why not try out this simple skin care regimen to minimize the damage caused by acne & as far as possible prevent its eruption.

I Tried a Headache Balm and Ended Up with Rashes

I do have this habit of slathering pain balms whenever I have a headache. But never did I get a skin reaction or rashes from it. It so happened that I had an extremely severe headache a few months ago.  The pain was so unbearable that I gingerly reached out for a pain balm kept on my bedside table and kept on slathering it repeatedly all over the temples of my forehead. Next morning, after I woke up, I found that the skin on my forehead was peeling off and worse there were red rashes!  This was the first time in my life that I was getting rashes from applying a pain balm on my forehead !  I have never had any pain balm allergy or as such!  Side-effects due to application of a pain balm  was something I've never come across all these years! I usually use pain balms of reputed companies – my usual favourites are Tiger balm, Amrutanjan, Zandu balm and Sloan’s balm.  This time I had used Tiger balm. But why did it  give me rashes now, when I had used it...
