Not all makeup is created equal.
When I first started wearing makeup as a teen, my young, resilient skin could manage with purple Wet n' Wild eyeliner and cherry lip smackers lipgloss. Truthfully, I had no idea what to look for in a makeup product. I just wore what all my friends were wearing -- or whatever ads we saw in Tiger Beat.
But, as I grew older, I began to notice that quality brands create makeup that's best suited for certain skin tones and skin types. I also realized that some makeup products contain better ingredients than others. I got over buying the cheapest. I got over buying the most expensive. And I learned to buy the best for my skin.
But, as I grew older by another few years, my skin became more sensitive to the products I once used, putting me back in the hunt for makeup with good ingredients that help my skin look young and healthy. I thought I was on my own -- until the move.
A good friend of mine relocated to Ottawa, Canada. I was sad to see her go, but we both love change and new beginnings. And, while moving is stressful, she had a lot of help from iPhone apps and Canadian beauty blogs to find the best moving companies Ottawa had to offer, as well as the best skin products Ottawa had to offer without the hassle of international shipping.
It gets better -- our skin types are very similar, so all the awesome new Canadian beauty products she found worked great for me too!
Canadian Find #1: Marcelle’s BB Cream Beauty Balm This skin cream is pretty amazing. It's great for anyone of any age and all skin types. This cream isn't just a tinted moisturizer or make-up base. This cream perfects your skin making it more even while it hydrates your face giving you a beautifully flawless complexion. You can use it as a tinted moisturizer alone or as a base for your make-up for complete coverage and to improve the longevity of your make-up.
Marcelle’s BB Cream is available in two shades, making it suitable for a broad range of complexions due to its self-adjusting pigments. These pigments transform to adapt to any skin tone. Another great thing about this cream is that it is hypoallergenic, which eliminates the fear of having a break out. It's also perfume free, which is always a plus. I don't want to smell like powder or daisies -- or powdered daisies.
Canadian Find #2: Boxx Cosmetics, “Lipshine” The Lipshine products from Boxx Cosmetics are not your typical lip-gloss. This lip-gloss is created with the real woman in mind. Their innovative formula is a comfortable, non-sticky, long wear and high shine lip-gloss. This isn’t your run-of-the-mill glorified chap stick.
There are six sheer color washes that can be worn layered over your favorite lip color or alone for a more natural look. This Lipshine has ingredients like peptides to plump your lips and mango butter.
Key Ingredients in the Boxx Lipshine:
You can also use the concealer stick on your eyelids prior to applying your eye shadow. It keeps your eye shadow on all day, until you decide to wash it off.
I am so thankful that my friend found me these great products. I hope you have the chance to try them because I know when you do, you will love them too! So long, Wet n' Wild.

It's best to know what makeup product suits your skin in order to allot a budget for it on your shopping days. In that way, you won't be wasting any more money by experimenting away most of your days on makeup. It's also best to know which are quality brands and are the most affordable in the makeup department. It's not only the budget that counts but also the product's quality.
