Easy Ways to Score Free Makeup Samples

Every time you flip through a magazine, watch TV, or pass a fashion billboard you're bound to see celebrities and supermodels looking gorgeous. And if you're like most women you probably wonder how you can adopt the trends that make them look so spectacular.

But when it comes to makeup, you might not have the first idea whether particular brands, products, or colors will work for you. And you don't want to spend good money on tons of products that you'll use only once and then throw away because they're just not right for you.

Luckily, there is an easy solution; you can get free samples of products that interest you in order to try them out before you commit to buying them. But how can you get access to these free samples?

free-makeup

Believe it or not, you can often get free samples simply by contacting the manufacturer. There is not a brand around that isn't interested in getting your business and many will take whatever steps are necessary to make you a loyal customer.

You may not be able to secure samples of the specific products you want from the brand (they might not offer sample sizes of every product they make), but by contacting them directly (by mail, email, or phone) you can almost certainly get some kind of sample sent out to you and probably receive coupons in order to try full-sized versions of the specific products you're seeking.

You might also try visiting makeup counters at department stores like Macy's or Nordstrom, which often carry samples of the latest products in limited quantities. And if they run out, they always have "try me" products so that you can get an idea of how they look.

Of course, these options won't work for all brands, or you may only be able to get free samples once from a particular brand. If you'd like to continue to take advantage of such offers you need to find outlets that offer them frequently.

One good option if you prefer the drugstore makeup to the pricy brands featured at department stores is to seek out stores that offer sample programs.

Walmart has a free sample page on their website that informs consumers of the products they currently have samples for (makeup included), but you have to act fast to get them since stores often run out quickly.

If you subscribe to Walmart's Facebook page or Twitter feed, however, you'll get instant updates when new product samples are listed.

You might also consider joining beauty programs; many of which give you points to use towards free products, as well as free samples with purchases.

Sephora, for example, gives members free samples each time they shop in a store, and they send out emails with codes for free samples for customers that prefer to buy online.

And some magazines, like Allure, offer free samples each month to those that sign up for memberships online and log in on giveaway days.

In truth, it's pretty easy to find free samples of the makeup products you're keen to try, but there are definitely ways to save some money while you seek out the cosmetics that will help you to look modern and beautiful.
