Trying to keep a beauty regimen in college is literally like being in between a rock and a hard place. There's no time in life where you'll be exposed to more people in one setting and so you always want to look your best, but there's also a huge possibility that you will never been on the same kind of tight budget. So, when it comes to beauty products, your options tend to be pretty limited.
There are some gems that you can find that aren't hard on the wallet and can still enhance your natural beauty. Below are seven things that are sure to keep you fresh and beautiful---no matter how much money is in your bank account.
Dove Body Wash. It doesn't make a lot of sense to have a full face of make-up on when you're skin isn't clean and fresh. Dove Body Wash comes in a variety of scents that will keep your skin soft and smooth. The best part is that you can usually find it in a local drugstore for around $5.
Coconut Oil. One of the greatest moisturizers is something that actually serves as an antioxidant too. Although some people only associate coconut oil with cooking (it's great for that as well, actually), if you apply some onto your body right after get out of the shower, it will trap some of the moisture into your skin and provide you with a natural glow all day long. You can usually find it in the grocery aisle with the rest of the cooking oils.
Rockin' It Encore Fresh Dry Shampoo. The beauty product line got 2 b has a kind of shampoo that allows you to actually skip washing your hair in the shower. This is a great option for if you stayed out all night and you have an 8 o'clock class. All you have to do is spray and go. You can get this "non-shampoo shampoo in a can" for less than five bucks at Wal-Mart.
Homemade scented body spray. One of the best beauty accessories is "smell good stuff", but perfumes and colognes can definitely get a bit pricey. You can make some of your own by combining half a bottle of your favorite scented oil with half a bottle of distilled water. For a bit of a more dewy effect, put in a few drops of olive oil too.
Wet 'N Wild Nail Polish. Basically every drugstore carries this brand of polish in it. They're only $1-2 per bottle and if you add a layer of top coat onto it, you will have some beautifully polished nails for up to 10 days easily.
Advil Liquid Gels. For some people, unfortunately, acne is simply a part of life. You can try all of the over-the-counter treatments, but some of those can either be too harsh on the skin or simply too expensive. There aren't too many girls who don't have a bottle of Advil lying around, though. Just pop one of them and put it on your pimples. In no time, the swelling will have subsided significantly.
DIY lip gloss. You don't need a masters degree in communications to know that one of the best things that you could ever do, beauty wise, is to make sure that your lips are moisturized. You can easily do this by dabbing on a bit of olive oil on your way out of the door, or by going online to look up homemade lip gloss recipes. Most simply require a bit of beeswax, candy, petroleum jelly and a microwave. Just put "homemade lip gloss" in your favorite search engine and you'll find dozens of recipe options that will keep you "kissable and cute" all day long for a fraction of the cost of a more commercialized brand.
