How Important Are Beauty Product Reviews?

Here's something that just may surprise you. Were you aware of the fact that while people allow the price of a product to ultimately influence them when it comes to making a purchase, that the next top "swayer" is the product reviews that are provided about the item? That's right. According to a report on BizRate last year, approximately 61 percent of people put great emphasis on what is being said about a product before they decide to actually buy it.

This means that when it comes to the question of if beauty product reviews are important, the simple answer is that they most definitely are. This particular article, however, explores a few reasons as to why that may be the case:

Reviews give you an honest perspective. There used to be a time when you could basically only rely on whatever a commercial or print ad told you about a particular product. The problem with that is you are only hearing the company's perspective on it and obviously, they are going to be a bit biased. However, thanks to the internet and the power of online shopping, you can now get insights from actual consumers. This is a great thing because you are able to read a bunch of different opinions, which can give you a "big picture view" on if the product is something that you would like to try---or not.

Reviews can save you money. If you happen to read some business reviews about a particular company, you purchase a service that they provide and you're dissatisfied, there's a pretty good chance that you can get your money back (at least in many cases). Sometimes, when you're purchasing a beauty product (especially if it's online), it can be a bit more challenging. One reason is because you may buy something like a body lotion or a foundation that you're not totally sold on at first, but you're not sure if you want to part with it, either. So, you may end up keeping it a bit longer than the manufacturer feels you should in order to get a full refund. Another thing to consider is that when you buy items online, it can be a bit of a headache returning it and waiting for to get your money back. These provide other reasons why reading beauty product reviews is such a good idea because it helps you to make a more educated decision (especially since oftentimes, some consumer reviews will specifically mention if something was "worth the purchase" or not).

Reviews may help you to make up your mind. Also according to the BizRate report, another thing that product reviews do is help people to make a decision. For instance, over a quarter of the people surveyed said that they would actually not buy something if they read two bad reviews on it. On the other hand, if you're not sure about a certain mascara or lipstick and you see five good reviews in a row, that may sway you to go ahead and try it out. Indeed, there is more than one way for "peer pressure" to work and reading beauty product reviews would definitely be one of them.

The ache of acne (pimples)

Acne is often the bane of a pretty face. It is painful more emotionally than physically, for the scar that it leaves behind can last for a lifetime, adding to one’s miserable look & feeling. Aspirin for acne-prone skin

Aspirin has been around for a long time and its health benefits are wide and varied. Aspirin , or acetylsalicylic acid is a salicylate drug, often used as an analgesic to relieve minor aches and pains , as an antipyretic to reduce fever , and as an anti-inflammatory medication. Aspirin's greatest benefit is reducing cardiovascular events including heart attacks and strokes. According to the American Heart Assoc. virtually all women are at risk of heart disease and doctors should more strongly consider prescribing a daily aspirin for their female patients. There is growing evidence to suggest regular aspirin use may reduce cancer and dementia as well. Investigators from the Women's Health Study have reported important new findings demonstrating that aspirin reduces the risk of a first stroke in women. When given to someone immediately after a heart attack, aspirin decreases death by 25%.

I Tried a Headache Balm and Ended Up with Rashes

I do have this habit of slathering pain balms whenever I have a headache. But never did I get a skin reaction or rashes from it. It so happened that I had an extremely severe headache a few months ago.  The pain was so unbearable that I gingerly reached out for a pain balm kept on my bedside table and kept on slathering it repeatedly all over the temples of my forehead. Next morning, after I woke up, I found that the skin on my forehead was peeling off and worse there were red rashes!  This was the first time in my life that I was getting rashes from applying a pain balm on my forehead !  I have never had any pain balm allergy or as such!  Side-effects due to application of a pain balm  was something I've never come across all these years! I usually use pain balms of reputed companies – my usual favourites are Tiger balm, Amrutanjan, Zandu balm and Sloan’s balm.  This time I had used Tiger balm. But why did it  give me rashes now, when I had used it...
