It is interesting, isn't it? That the only mammals that drink another mammal's milk are humans. Actually, that's the basis for many holistic health experts' argument about why, ultimately, dairy milk is not the best for our health. The reasons why include that cow's milk is an acidifying protein, it's a processed food and that it produces (more) mucus within our systems.

Soy milk is filled with proteins, fiber, vitamins and minerals. Research has proven that it improves our body's lipid profile, strengthens our blood vessels, promotes weight loss and even lessens premenstrual symptoms in women.
There are also reports that indicate that it aids in preventing osteoporosis and certain forms of cancer. However, there are some risks that come with drinking soy milk as well.
Aside from the fact that some people are allergic to soy, one of the greater concerns is that since it contains phytoestrogens, that it could induce premature puberty in young women and that it may stimulate certain hormonal growth cells, therefore, putting breast cancer survivors at a greater risk for a re-occurrence. Those studies are ongoing.

Physical health benefits are similar to that of almonds itself. Almond milk is great for promoting heart, skin and eye health. It contains about 30 percent of the recommended daily value for calcium.
And as far as its found vitamin promotions, almond milk has one gram of protein per serving, is high in Vitamin B and there is four percent of iron found in each serving. There are not really any potential health risks that are directly related to almond milk (so long as you are not allergic to nuts).

I don’t know much about soy but I am pretty concern about the Almond milk. It’s really good for Bone, Heart Health and also Blood Sugar friendly.
ReplyDeleteSoy is good, but not to often, I hears something about affecting a woman's reproductive system. Almond milk tastes wierd
ReplyDeleteAlmonds are healthy BECAUSE they're high in fat - specifically, monounsaturated fat.
ReplyDeleteProcessed soy products of ANY kind actually can increase the risk of cancer due to the phytoestrogens in them
ReplyDeleteAlmond milk is a good
I would go with almond milk. Soy is not the miracle food that people seem to think it is. For one thing it can increase the risk of thyroid disease and unless you buy organic soy milk, it will almost certainly be made from genetically modified soybeans.
ReplyDeleteSoy, hands down. Better nutrition, less fat and calories, easier acquisition, more choices
ReplyDeleteSOY! Soy is the greatest thing on the planet
ReplyDeleteAlmond is much more nutty flavored, but soy is also a strong flavor. Either one works well in cookies, but I've noticed that soy blends better with the rest of the cookie ingredients and the flavor is hidden better.
ReplyDeleteNot too sure about soy, but almond milk will definitely be beneficial. Consumption of almonds whole or in any form is helpful for the body. I cleanse, tone and moisturize my face, neck and shoulder daily. I cleanse with besan, tone with rose water and moisturize with coconut milk before going to bed. You should also try out coconut milk...really helps in keeping the moisture locked within during the dry winter months.
ReplyDeleteI’ve just recently begun drinking Almond Milk and I have to say that it is a FANTASTIC alternative to Cow’s Milk. I enjoy the flavor of it much more than Cow’s Milk (I really like the light almondy finish it has). I also think it’s a great way to get important nutrients into your body. With no saturated fat or cholesterol, but plenty of benefitial nutrients, I will find it very hard to go back to drinking Cow’s Milk regularly.
ReplyDeleteI tried Soy Milk for a while, but it just wasn’t for me. Almond Milk has been wonderful though!
