How exercise and healthy diet choices can help you look and feel better about yourself

Eating a well-balanced diet and exercising regularly can improve your health inside and out. You will be able to improve how your body works and its efficiency. You will also notice things like stronger hair, better skin and brighter eyes. It is important to know how eating right and exercising helps you because it can help to keep you motivated to stick with a healthy lifestyle.

Health Benefits of Eating Healthy and Exercising Just like you learned about in middle school health classes, eating right and exercising helps to build a strong heart and lungs, strong bones and muscles and gives you energy to power through your days.
You will feel better overall, get sick less often and work toward a more active and healthy life as you age. Things like diabetes, cancer and other chronic diseases are less of a threat when you treat your body well. You will also feel more confident when you are at a healthy body weight, helping to improve your mental and emotional health too.

Beauty Benefits of Eating Healthy Your hair, skin and nails will thank you for eating healthy. Getting a well-balanced diet with adequate amounts of vitamins and minerals will help to ensure healthy, more youthful skin. Sugary, processed foods can actually age you, so keeping these to a minimum will help you look younger for a lot longer. Issues like wrinkles, fine lines and skin discoloration are less likely with a well-balanced diet.

Strong hair requires nutrients like protein and B vitamins. A healthy diet will ensure that you are getting adequate amounts of these. When you have adequate nutrition, your hair will grow faster, it will be stronger and less prone to breakage and damage. You still need to wash and condition, of course, but nutrition will play the largest role in overall health.

Fingernails and toenails can tell a lot about a person's health. There are some changes that will happen when you are not getting enough vitamins and minerals. Things like lines in the nails, brittleness and breakage are all possible. Eating a diet that is rich in nutrients will help to ensure that your nails are strong and exude health.

Exercise Benefits of Eating Healthy Whether you workout to maintain fitness or to achieve it, you will get beauty benefits in the process too. First and foremost, right after a good workout your skin will glow. You sweat and this helps to push gunk out of your pores to help purify your skin. This also leads to more oxygenated blood going to your skin, an increase in cell renewal and a boost in detoxification.

Cellulite is something that no woman ever wants to see. However, most women will have it to some degree at some point in life. If you want to keep your risk as low as possible, you want to exercise regularly. This helps to keep body fluids flowing and keeps toxins regularly flushed out so that cellulite has the least risk to form.

The aging process is inevitable, but this does not mean you cannot stave it off for as long as possible. Exercising regularly has been shown to help combat aging. This occurs because regular exercise helps to keep tension and stress lower, and tension and stress are known to age you.

Things like acne and rosacea can actually be helped with regular exercise for many people. The sweating helps to purge pores which helps to keep your skin cleaner. Now, you will want to face your face and body after a good workout to help this process.

When it comes to exercise, you want to get at least 45 minutes per session, at three sessions a week. This is the minimum. Now, you can do anything that makes you sweat and gets your heart rate up. Training exercises like slideboard training is fun and provides a workout for your cardiovascular system and your muscles at the same time. This exercise started to help hockey players build stamina, flexibility and strength, but it can be done by anyone. You can even buy slideboards to use in your own home.

Aspirin's greatest benefit is reducing cardiovascular events including heart attacks and strokes. According to the American Heart Assoc. virtually all women are at risk of heart disease and doctors should more strongly consider prescribing a daily aspirin for their female patients. There is growing evidence to suggest regular aspirin use may reduce cancer and dementia as well. Lemon as a beauty aid

The diminutive lemon is a very versatile beauty-aid and this cheap and golden-coloured fruit has excellent properties for enhancing your looks. Simple lemon-based preparations, you can mix in your own kitchen, will surely bring a dramatic transformation in your beauty regimen.

Aloevera, the wonder herb

Of all the herbs available in the kitchen garden, aloe is perhaps the richest in healing properties and has been rightly named the “first-aid” plant. It has moisturizing and emollient properties and is used in cosmetic creams, sun-lotions, shaving creams and face packs. It can easily be cultivated as a house-plant in a sunny warm spot with good drainage. Cosmetologists mix aloe with several other herbs and draft fancy names for it. Then these “herbal” avatars are sold at exorbitant prices. Growing a plant and using fresh gel is much more effective than bottled gel, simply because it is alive and therefore is more potent. It is the only plant whose extract is applied directly from plant to face in its natural and purest form.

I Tried a Headache Balm and Ended Up with Rashes

I do have this habit of slathering pain balms whenever I have a headache. But never did I get a skin reaction or rashes from it. It so happened that I had an extremely severe headache a few months ago.  The pain was so unbearable that I gingerly reached out for a pain balm kept on my bedside table and kept on slathering it repeatedly all over the temples of my forehead. Next morning, after I woke up, I found that the skin on my forehead was peeling off and worse there were red rashes!  This was the first time in my life that I was getting rashes from applying a pain balm on my forehead !  I have never had any pain balm allergy or as such!  Side-effects due to application of a pain balm  was something I've never come across all these years! I usually use pain balms of reputed companies – my usual favourites are Tiger balm, Amrutanjan, Zandu balm and Sloan’s balm.  This time I had used Tiger balm. But why did it  give me rashes now, when I had used it...
