Paleo Diet for Beautiful Skin

In this fast paced and mechanical world where everyone is busy and always on the move, people generally tend to forget to take care of themselves. Everyone yearns to have clear and spotless skin, which has become rather difficult to have and even more difficult to maintain, especially with recent food habits. We often hear people say, “You are what you eat”! The paleo diet is a revolutionary solution that has come a long way in helping people to achieve not only their health and fitness goals, but also their desire to have clear and flawless skin. The paleo diet is based on the principles of tracking back to how we eat and making better food choices. People refer to it as a primal diet as it boosts energy and guarantees weight control. Another great attribute of the paleo diet is that, it includes food and drinks that help to alleviate skin care issues such as acne and blemishes.

Beautiful Skin Paleo Diet

When it comes to skin care problems, acne is the single most prominent problem faced by majority of people. Researchers have concluded that some of the predominant sources of acne are food allergies, intestinal imbalance, insulin resistance and hormone imbalance. All of the above-mentioned causes can be overcome by altering our food habits; and this is exactly what the paleo diet does. Also, studies and researches have shown that acne is caused due to inflammation. The objective of paleo dieting is to reduce the inflammation levels in the body. By avoiding processed foods and foods that are fried or high in sugar content, acne can be easily overcome.

Paleo diet focuses on consuming foods such as herbs, grass-fed meats, fresh fruits and vegetables, nuts, healthy oils etc. These are typically the foods that humans were biologically meant to eat. Herbs consist of some of the strongest antioxidants and thus, their extensive use as natural remedies. Herbs such as basil, burdock root, mint, cilantro and oregano are rich in iron, calcium and vitamins, which help to promote the functioning of the immune system. Fresh vegetables and greens provide several cleansing benefits and thus contribute towards alleviating breakout problems. Nuts such as almonds, walnuts and cashews are a great source of protein and a good snack option. Consuming these nuts instead of oily snacks and crackers helps to avoid skin issues. Fresh fruits are a vital part of the paleo diet. Fruits such as apples and berries help to cleanse the liver and bowels; and function as a good detoxifying agent for the body. Fresh grass fed meats and fish offer rich nutrients as opposed to starch rich pastas and potatoes. They are rich in protein, Omega 3 fatty acids and amino acids that help to build strong muscles and promote the health of the cardiovascular system.

The paleo diet also advocates consuming plenty of liquids such as water, hot green tea, fruit smoothies etc. as they help to cleanse the entire digestive system. The paleo diet focuses on going back to the way the human body was biologically designed to eat. It incorporates various types of foods that offer not only health benefits, but also contribute to a healthy, clear and flawless skin!

I eat Lean meats, green veggies, some fruit, some nuts and seeds.
I've been holding onto weight for a while so I think the Paleo diet will definitely help with that. I've also had digestive problems (like excessive gas) and that has already gone away.

Aspirin , or acetylsalicylic acid is a salicylate drug, often used as an analgesic to relieve minor aches and pains , as an antipyretic to reduce fever , and as an anti-inflammatory medication. Aspirin's greatest benefit is reducing cardiovascular events including heart attacks and strokes. According to the American Heart Assoc. virtually all women are at risk of heart disease and doctors should more strongly consider prescribing a daily aspirin for their female patients. There is growing evidence to suggest regular aspirin use may reduce cancer and dementia as well. Investigators from the Women's Health Study have reported important new findings demonstrating that aspirin reduces the risk of a first stroke in women. Aloevera, the wonder herb

Of all the herbs available in the kitchen garden, aloe is perhaps the richest in healing properties and has been rightly named the “first-aid” plant. It has moisturizing and emollient properties and is used in cosmetic creams, sun-lotions, shaving creams and face packs. It can easily be cultivated as a house-plant in a sunny warm spot with good drainage. Cosmetologists mix aloe with several other herbs and draft fancy names for it. Then these “herbal” avatars are sold at exorbitant prices. Growing a plant and using fresh gel is much more effective than bottled gel, simply because it is alive and therefore is more potent. It is the only plant whose extract is applied directly from plant to face in its natural and purest form.

I Tried a Headache Balm and Ended Up with Rashes

I do have this habit of slathering pain balms whenever I have a headache. But never did I get a skin reaction or rashes from it. It so happened that I had an extremely severe headache a few months ago.  The pain was so unbearable that I gingerly reached out for a pain balm kept on my bedside table and kept on slathering it repeatedly all over the temples of my forehead. Next morning, after I woke up, I found that the skin on my forehead was peeling off and worse there were red rashes!  This was the first time in my life that I was getting rashes from applying a pain balm on my forehead !  I have never had any pain balm allergy or as such!  Side-effects due to application of a pain balm  was something I've never come across all these years! I usually use pain balms of reputed companies – my usual favourites are Tiger balm, Amrutanjan, Zandu balm and Sloan’s balm.  This time I had used Tiger balm. But why did it  give me rashes now, when I had used it...
