You can prevent dry skin by using lotions made to moisturize the skin. Moisturizing lotions assists your skin with retaining moisture by making a layer that protects the skin.

You can also help prevent dry skin by adding oil to your bath water when you're ready to wash up, as it will trap moisture in your skin by forming a layer. Putting on baby oil is another great way to stop your skin from becoming dry because it forms an effective skin barrier.

Natural Ways To Stop Dry Skin
One of the best natural treatments for dry skin is aloe vera. Simply cut open the aloe vera leaf and extract the gel. Apply the gel generously to the affected areas by rubbing it into your skin.

You can take a bath in milk to help get rid of dry skin. The reason milk is great for your skin is because it contains plenty of vitamins beneficial for your skin health. Also, milk has lactic acid that will exfoliate your skin and get rid of dead skin cells that could lead to irritated and dry skin.

Soak a wash cloth in milk and then apply it directly to the dry areas on your skin and allow the soaked cloth to sit there for at least 10 minutes. You could also fill up your bathtub halfway with some hot water and then add around 3 to 4 cups of cold milk to it. Soak your body fully in this bath for around 20 minutes and then get out and rinse yourself off.

Another way to use milk to treat dry skin is to make a mask. To make the mask combine about a quarter cup of powdered milk with a little water until it forms a paste. Apply the thick paste directly to your face and allow it to sit there for around fifteen to twenty minutes and then rinse off. The mask should leave your skin feeling replenished and fresh.

You can start consuming vitamin B complex supplements that contain riboflavin, thiamine, and pantothenic acid that will help get rid of dry skin. Another vitamin thas has been proven to help with dry skin is zinc and beta-carotene. Take the recommended daily dosage of these supplements to stop and prevent dry skin.

If you want to get rid of dry skin you can take an epsom salt bath. Epsom salts help with dry skin because it has magnesium sulfate in it, which will soften up your skin once your skin absorbs it. Fill up your bathtub halfway and then add the epsom salt to it to help soften up your skin and draw out dry skin cells.

Aspirin has been around for a long time and its health benefits are wide and varied. Aspirin , or acetylsalicylic acid is a salicylate drug, often used as an analgesic to relieve minor aches and pains , as an antipyretic to reduce fever , and as an anti-inflammatory medication. Aspirin's greatest benefit is reducing cardiovascular events including heart attacks and strokes. According to the American Heart Assoc. virtually all women are at risk of heart disease and doctors should more strongly consider prescribing a daily aspirin for their female patients. There is growing evidence to suggest regular aspirin use may reduce cancer and dementia as well. Investigators from the Women's Health Study have reported important new findings demonstrating that aspirin reduces the risk of a first stroke in women. When given to someone immediately after a heart attack, aspirin decreases death by 25%.

I Tried a Headache Balm and Ended Up with Rashes

I do have this habit of slathering pain balms whenever I have a headache. But never did I get a skin reaction or rashes from it. It so happened that I had an extremely severe headache a few months ago.  The pain was so unbearable that I gingerly reached out for a pain balm kept on my bedside table and kept on slathering it repeatedly all over the temples of my forehead. Next morning, after I woke up, I found that the skin on my forehead was peeling off and worse there were red rashes!  This was the first time in my life that I was getting rashes from applying a pain balm on my forehead !  I have never had any pain balm allergy or as such!  Side-effects due to application of a pain balm  was something I've never come across all these years! I usually use pain balms of reputed companies – my usual favourites are Tiger balm, Amrutanjan, Zandu balm and Sloan’s balm.  This time I had used Tiger balm. But why did it  give me rashes now, when I had used it...
