Tips to Get Longer, Thicker and Beautiful Eyelashes

Eyelashes add to the beauty of your eyes. Thick, long and dark eyelashes encircling the eyes have long been recognized as an important facet of physical beauty. Beautiful eyes are also associated with social advantages. In many cultures, long, thick eyelashes have been considered as the symbol of beauty and femininity; on the other hand loss of lashes has been related with the loss of attractiveness and psychological grief.


 Because of these facts, for thousands of years women have employed various techniques to enhance the prominence of their eye lashes.

Eyelashes must not be considered purely aesthetic in nature. Eyelashes protect the eyes by defending eyes against debris and also protect against airborne eye infections.

But all women are not blessed with naturally beautiful eyelashes. Even though the eyelash growth and length depends upon the genetically ruled factors yet there are various tips and ideas to create an illusion of long eyelashes. So, here is an account of the effective ideas to lengthen and thicken the eyelashes:
  • Nutritional additions: some natural vitamins are necessary for the proper growth of hairs and eyelashes. The deficiency of which may result in premature falling. The best way to include these vitamins to your body is by consuming them. You should consume a large amount of biotin (a precursor of Vit A) that you can get from yeast, liver, salmon, bananas, carrots, egg yolks, legumes, and mushrooms.

  • Using good mascara: Good mascara can be savior for those with scarce eyelashes. A good mascara should be:
  1. Waterproof
  2. Hypo allergic
  3. Tube mascara that adheres to the hair in tube like manner thickening and darkening the lashes
  • Using curler to curl your eyelashes: flat lashes give the illusion of short lashes even if they are not. Using eyelash curler will make your eyelashes long and bouncy.

  • Applying eyeliner: try to apply the eyeliner of a darker shade than your natural eyelash color and that too near the roots of lashes giving an illusion to the lashes roots being thicker and darker.

  • Applying fake eyelashes or Eyelashes extensions: using fake eyelashes correctly needs practice. But once you have expertise the skill, the extension may turn out to be best makeup accessory that will dramatically make your lashes look longer.

  • Removing eye makeup before going to bed is a good practice. The excess of the makeup may not be good for the hair root or lash lines.

  • Using oils: The use of oils such as castor oil, olive, almond or coconut oil or even petroleum jelly can do wonders. How to apply these oils? The first step includes brushing the lashes using an eyelash comb.. Thereafter, apply some oil (either castor oil or coconut oil ) on a clean mascara wand or tiny eye lash comb and now comb the lashes again. Remove the excess of oil using a tissue paper, and then let it remain like that overnight and wash off in the morning.

  • Prescription drugs and treatments: Eyelash enhancing drugs are available in the market. Careprost (Bimatoprost ophthalmic 0.03%) is a product used to treat lost or reduced eyelashes or Hypotrichosis (inadequate or not enough eyelashes). It belongs to the class of medications called prostaglandin analogues. Careprost 0.03 is a very good product meant to increase the length by forcing the eyelashes to grow longer, thicker and darker.
