The Right Hair For The Right Occasion

The best thing about hair is how versatile it is. When you need it to look casual, not a problem. If you need a fancy upswept do to impress your husband's boss, you can handle that. When you want something fun and fresh, there are thousands of inspirations out there to get cute and unique hairstyles.

The Right Hair For The Right Occasion
Easy and Casual
Side knot your ponytail. Yep, you read that right. Combine a few cute styles and you've got something that's both chic but says "I didn't do anything to look this good". You'll need a light styling mousse, a clear elastic, and a large bobbypin. Apply the mousse from roots to ends for some texture. Your hair can be damp or dry but if it's dry, use a light mousse or you're going to end up with cement hair. Separate your hair over your shoulder into two pieces and tie a simple knot. Don't go crazy tightening it; you're not tying a boat to a dock. Secure the ends with the elastic and then slide it up under the knot so it's hidden. Put the pin in where you need some extra hold and then tease the ends a bit by backcombing. Tug on it to tighten and voila! You've got a sexy, messy, but totally flattering 'do.

Twisted Updo
If you're heading to work and know you're going out for a cocktail or some tacos after your shift, try a twisted updo. Begin with wavy hair and clip the front/top of your hair up to the top of your head. Create a messy bun of your choice at the nape of your neck with the rest of your hair. Take sections from the top of your hair and loosely twist them and bobbypin them into the bun. Repeat, alternating sides (so you're working from the hair by your ears to the top of your head in a left to right pattern). Once you've reached the hair at the top of your head, backcomb the crown of your hair for some soft volume and twist and pin that into the bun, too. You've got a style that could be worthy of a wedding but still fits in at your favorite bar, too.

Use some Ponytail Hacks
There are a couple of things you can do to your ponytail to give it a little extra oomph.
  • Give your pony some flounce by propping it up with two bobbypins.
  • Start by separating your hair into two sections. With the top section, leave some hair around your face to pull back into the second ponytail. Put the top ponytail with the top half of your hair just a little above the line of your eyes. With the second ponytail, gather the hair that's still around your face and pull it back with the bottom section of your hair and boom! Instant Barbie doll ponytail.
When you absolutely love hair, you probably already have an endless supply of hairstyles that will take you through any occasion and garner you lots of compliments (and probably have people tell you that you could be teaching at a school like the Canadian Beauty College). If you don't have a clue what to do with your hair, take heart and know there are plenty of easy to follow DIY tutorials to give you the hair you've always been envious of.

Aspirin for acne-prone skin

Aspirin , or acetylsalicylic acid is a salicylate drug, often used as an analgesic to relieve minor aches and pains , as an antipyretic to reduce fever , and as an anti-inflammatory medication. Aspirin's greatest benefit is reducing cardiovascular events including heart attacks and strokes. According to the American Heart Assoc. virtually all women are at risk of heart disease and doctors should more strongly consider prescribing a daily aspirin for their female patients. There is growing evidence to suggest regular aspirin use may reduce cancer and dementia as well. Investigators from the Women's Health Study have reported important new findings demonstrating that aspirin reduces the risk of a first stroke in women. Lemon as a beauty aid

The diminutive lemon is a very versatile beauty-aid and this cheap and golden-coloured fruit has excellent properties for enhancing your looks. Simple lemon-based preparations, you can mix in your own kitchen, will surely bring a dramatic transformation in your beauty regimen.

Aloevera, the wonder herb

Of all the herbs available in the kitchen garden, aloe is perhaps the richest in healing properties and has been rightly named the “first-aid” plant. It has moisturizing and emollient properties and is used in cosmetic creams, sun-lotions, shaving creams and face packs. It can easily be cultivated as a house-plant in a sunny warm spot with good drainage. Cosmetologists mix aloe with several other herbs and draft fancy names for it. Then these “herbal” avatars are sold at exorbitant prices. Growing a plant and using fresh gel is much more effective than bottled gel, simply because it is alive and therefore is more potent. It is the only plant whose extract is applied directly from plant to face in its natural and purest form.

I Tried a Headache Balm and Ended Up with Rashes

I do have this habit of slathering pain balms whenever I have a headache. But never did I get a skin reaction or rashes from it. It so happened that I had an extremely severe headache a few months ago.  The pain was so unbearable that I gingerly reached out for a pain balm kept on my bedside table and kept on slathering it repeatedly all over the temples of my forehead. Next morning, after I woke up, I found that the skin on my forehead was peeling off and worse there were red rashes!  This was the first time in my life that I was getting rashes from applying a pain balm on my forehead !  I have never had any pain balm allergy or as such!  Side-effects due to application of a pain balm  was something I've never come across all these years! I usually use pain balms of reputed companies – my usual favourites are Tiger balm, Amrutanjan, Zandu balm and Sloan’s balm.  This time I had used Tiger balm. But why did it  give me rashes now, when I had used it...
