Homemade Mouthwash

Good oral hygiene ensures good health. And the best way to achieve this is to brush your teeth twice a day. Flossing is also as important as brushing to dislodge the impurities stuck in between the teeth. Along with brushing and flossing, cleaning your tongue is also highly necessary; it helps get rid of the white deposit that is a breeding ground for bacteria and other microbes. Rinsing your mouth really well after you eat is also crucial and you should never forget this habit. Following all these habits will also keep bad breath away. Now bad breath / halitosis is not just due to bad oral hygiene, it could also be a symptom of some other disease. Do read up on the various posts on bad breath (Bad breath? Take these tests, Home remedies for bad breath) and how to tackle it.

good oral hygiene

Most of us think that using a good mouthwash can rid us of bad breath. This isn't exactly true and the usage of over-the-counter mouth washes can in fact, prove to be counter-productive. Read about the health risks here and here. But for a better after-effect / placebo, the use of a mouth wash is essential for most of us; it sort of gives us a satisfaction that our mouth is clean. As store-bought mouth washes aren't deemed healthy, why not try using a homemade mouth wash such as the one given below?

Recipe for Homemade Mouth Wash
Ingredients:
  • 1/4 cup vinegar (buy from here)
  • 1 cup wine
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 teaspoon powdered cloves
Method:
Mix all these ingredients and store it in a clean glass bottle. Shake well before use. Swish about 2-3 teaspoons of this  formula in your mouth for a minute and then spit out. Do not swallow this while swishing or gargling.

But I would prefer you give more attention to rinsing your mouth after every meal or after you have eaten anything else. This is a far better way of ensuring a healthy, clean mouth instead of a mouthwash.

Highly Effective Indian Home remedies For Delayed Periods

Delayed periods or Irregular menstrual periods have become very common these days for a lot of women in their reproductive age and they suffer great agonies when their period does not come on time. A delay of 4-5 days may be fine but if it exceeds 8 days, then it's certainly a cause for concern. In this post, I'll be sharing highly effective Indian home remedies for your delayed periods . I'd been a long sufferer of irregular periods during my teenage to early twenties. I've tried most of the recipes here, along with Kapalabhati pranayama, yoga poses, mudras and other lifestyle habits. Now my periods are extremely regular like clockwork; not a day less or more than 28. When I look back, I'm surprised how I managed those years of anxiety and fear about my late periods.

Home remedies for sleeplessness

The day dawns beautifully for those who have had a night of good sleep. But the same day drags on for those who have spent a disturbing, sleepless night. Sleep is a biological necessity even as eating and drinking are. Sufficient sleep renders a person normally sociable, lively and high-spirited. It’s a nature’s way of rejuvenating the person for the next day. Realize all this, and make sleep a physiological habit. The consequences of long time sleep deprivation can be very grave. Lack of sleep takes its toll on the skin and hair. It causes acne-breakouts and makes one look aged and haggard beyond years. Experts opine that during sleep as our metabolic rate falls, blood goes to those areas which need the most repairing. This also steps up the production of collagen and keratin, which aid the regeneration of skin cells and help resist premature ageing. So for a younger looking and a problem free skin you need to have a good quality of sleep every night.
