Easy To Follow Self-Improvement Tips

The golden rule of self-improvement is positive thinking and believing in your own skills. Self-improvement is the activity of improving oneself and improving one’s life. It’s a process that can be ongoing or focus on specific goals. It involves many things – positive and negative.

It requires you to be absolutely honest about who you are, what you are capable of, what your weaknesses are and to work on them. Self-improvement also includes working on your attitude towards life, work, relationships and emotions.

By improving your attitude and way of thinking, you can improve your life considerably.

Here are some of the best self-improvement tips and how you can incorporate them.
Self-Improvement Tips

1. Start the day well:

The beginning of your day is very important. The way you start it can actually define the rest of it. If you want to stay positive throughout the day you have to start it positively.

Try to wake up early and the minute you open your eyes, stretch well and get up. Do some exercise – it could be push-ups or some jogging or even a yoga session.

Listen to music that gives you energy and don’t forget the breakfast. It’s the most important meal of the day. Do read Wake up refreshed - start the day positively

2. Keep your positive attitude:

One of the hardest things to do is staying in a positive mood throughout the day and especially at work. If you are having a stressful day, focus on getting things done and think about the end of the day when you will be able to rest.

Don’t get moody or complain about the situation – this won’t change the situation, it will only make you see things worse than they actually are. Think about the great achievements you’ve had at work, not about the problems, which are inevitable.

3. Have goals:

Knowing exactly what you want and making plans to achieve it is one of the best ways to improve your life. Be realistic, determined and disciplined and soon enough you will be rewarded for all your efforts.

Every time one reaches a goal s/he has set, this has a positive effect on his/her life and boosts his/her self confidence.

Having a goal in your life means having something to get you going through the day and when your mind is occupied with thoughts about how you will accomplish your goals, time seems to pass more quickly. An achieved goal equals success.

4. Take breaks:

Everyone needs a break and some kind of reward for the well done job. If there is nothing to look forward to, it’s harder to get motivated for work every single day.

Plan small weekend getaways, road trips and nights out with friends. Don’t forget that having fun is part of living a balanced life.

5. Fight your fears:

If you want to overcome your fears, don’t think about failure. Focus on the positive outcome of your efforts and think positively. The more you train your thoughts and emotions, the easier your life will get.

Let's admit it, everybody fears something, there are no completely fearless people. However, one must not let fears dictate his/her life.

Otherwise, this will not be a meaningful life, and definitely not one you are the master of. Never let your fears take over your life. Confront them, fight them and you will eventually overcome them.

6. Give:

If you give to others you will receive back – in one form or another. Giving is not only about material things; smile, compliment and be polite. Do favors when being asked to and you will feel the difference.

Giving is a form of a win-win situation. In the sense that both the giver and the receiver gain from the act of giving. The receiver is happy because s/he receives something, be it a gift, help or just moral support.

The giver, on the other hand is glad for being able to help someone in need and this has a positive effect in his/her self esteem.

    Firstly, set yourself a goal.
After you set your goal, plan how to get there. Set mini goals.

Aloevera, the wonder herb

Of all the herbs available in the kitchen garden, aloe is perhaps the richest in healing properties and has been rightly named the “first-aid” plant. It has moisturizing and emollient properties and is used in cosmetic creams, sun-lotions, shaving creams and face packs. It can easily be cultivated as a house-plant in a sunny warm spot with good drainage. Cosmetologists mix aloe with several other herbs and draft fancy names for it. Then these “herbal” avatars are sold at exorbitant prices. Growing a plant and using fresh gel is much more effective than bottled gel, simply because it is alive and therefore is more potent. It is the only plant whose extract is applied directly from plant to face in its natural and purest form.

I Tried a Headache Balm and Ended Up with Rashes

I do have this habit of slathering pain balms whenever I have a headache. But never did I get a skin reaction or rashes from it. It so happened that I had an extremely severe headache a few months ago.  The pain was so unbearable that I gingerly reached out for a pain balm kept on my bedside table and kept on slathering it repeatedly all over the temples of my forehead. Next morning, after I woke up, I found that the skin on my forehead was peeling off and worse there were red rashes!  This was the first time in my life that I was getting rashes from applying a pain balm on my forehead !  I have never had any pain balm allergy or as such!  Side-effects due to application of a pain balm  was something I've never come across all these years! I usually use pain balms of reputed companies – my usual favourites are Tiger balm, Amrutanjan, Zandu balm and Sloan’s balm.  This time I had used Tiger balm. But why did it  give me rashes now, when I had used it...
