Repairing Dry Damaged Hair

Your hair is one of the first things that people notice when they see you. No matter how nice your clothes are or how much makeup you put on, your hair can make or break your appearance. This is why it is important to have hydrated hair, no matter what hair type you have.

If your hair is dry and considerably damaged, it can affect how you look and what others think about you. Here are some of the consequences of not having hydrated hair and what you can do about it.

Breaks Easily

Hair that’s not hydrated will break easily. Brushing your hair or simply running your fingers through it will cause it to break. If you had healthy hair before, this can be quite traumatizing as you just aren't sure why your hair is so fragile.

It may seem as if no matter what you do your hair breaks off even when you just touch it. If you have thin hair to begin with, it will just make your hair appear to be even thinner.

Looks Damaged

If your hair is not hydrated it will look damaged. It will be frizzy and be difficult to brush. You will have a hard time trying to control it and no matter what hairstyle you try, you may not be able to minimize how damaged it looks.

Get The Right Shampoo

One of the easiest things to do to combat dry hair is to get the right shampoo. Certain products, like awapuhi shampoo, can drastically improve the condition of your hair in a short amount of time.

Just make sure you read the instructions on the label and that you use it as often as recommended. By using the right shampoo you may notice results in just a few days.

Don’t Color Your Hair Too Often

Coloring your hair often can damage it more than you might think. The harsh chemicals in hair dyes are not good for your hair and can dehydrate it very quickly. It is best to wait at least 8 weeks between colorings.

This will keep your hair from becoming even more dehydrated. If your hair is severely damaged, but you want to continue to color it because you have some gray hairs, you might want to consider another option. Touch up sticks will allow you to disguise your gray hairs without the use of harsh chemicals.

How these touch up sticks work is that you simply wet the color stick and brush it over the strands that are gray. While this isn’t a permanent solution and only lasts for about a day, it can give your hair a break from hair coloring and allow it time to become healthy again.

Use A Brush Designed For Your Hair Type

Even the brush that you use can cause your hair to become damaged. Some brushes have bristles that aren’t made for all hair types. Before purchasing a new brush, read reviews to determine if it is made for your hair type and whether or not it will damage your hair even further and cause it to break.

Fortunately, there are all sorts of different brushes to choose from so you can easily find one that will work great for your hair type.

Hot oil massage

At times, your dry, damaged hair needs a little more than the basic TLC. If you have tried everything from moisturizing shampoos, conditioners, leave-in damage repair hair masks et al without much success, you might have to go in for an intensive hot oil treatment.

However, getting a hot oil treatment or a keratin treatment at a salon or a spa will be a lot more expensive; but if you can well afford it, do go for it. But if you want it get done without shelling huge amounts of money,  DIY oil massage is the way to go.

All you need for this is some oils like coconut oil, olive oil, almond oil or even mustard oil and a shower cap.

Take one of these oils in a small bowl and warm it using the double boiling method. The oil should be warm and not hot, gently massage it on your scalp with your fingers in a way that every single hair shaft is coated evenly with oil.

This will moisturize your dried, parched and damaged tresses as they soak up this warm liquid thirstily. Continue massaging gently for 5-7 minutes. Then use a shower cap to wrap your hair.

Keep it for 20-30 minutes and then wash your hair using a good quality shampoo like the one mentioned above. The results of this hot oil treatment will be amazing.

However, for best results, repeat this hot oil massage every week for at least 2 months.

Final Thoughts

In conclusion, if your hair isn’t hydrated, and is dry and damaged, there are several things that you can do in order to make your hair healthy once again. By using the right shampoo, coloring your hair less often, using the correct brush and treating your tresses with intensive hot oil treatment, you can eventually have healthy locks again.

While it might take a little bit of time to get your hair hydrated and full of life, in the end you will end up with beautiful hair that your friends and family will be envious of.

Aspirin for acne-prone skin

Aspirin has been around for a long time and its health benefits are wide and varied. Aspirin , or acetylsalicylic acid is a salicylate drug, often used as an analgesic to relieve minor aches and pains , as an antipyretic to reduce fever , and as an anti-inflammatory medication. Aspirin's greatest benefit is reducing cardiovascular events including heart attacks and strokes. According to the American Heart Assoc. virtually all women are at risk of heart disease and doctors should more strongly consider prescribing a daily aspirin for their female patients. There is growing evidence to suggest regular aspirin use may reduce cancer and dementia as well. Investigators from the Women's Health Study have reported important new findings demonstrating that aspirin reduces the risk of a first stroke in women. When given to someone immediately after a heart attack, aspirin decreases death by 25%.
