The summer heat, this time took a toll on my skin in the form of prickly heat. So I had to turn to one of the oldest, trusted & well-known prickly heat powders around for a long time - Nycil. Yes, today I'm going to review Nycil Prickly Heat Powder, its herbal variant, in fact known by the name Nycil Cool Herbal Powder!
Normally, I don't get prickly heat boils, ghamori or rashes in summer that often. Last time, I remember getting those heat rashes was ages ago. But this summer, I had unusual itching sensations on my back, which I later came to know was due to the prickly heat.
Strangely enough, my husband too had to bear the brunt of prickly heat boils this time. So he bought Nycil Cool Herbal Powder with Neem and Pudina for the both of us. A bottle of 150g bottle costs INR 110/- Along with it, a 50g bottle is given free.
Nycil Cool Herbal Powder is touted to be a germ expert. It claims to kill germs / microbes which cause skin problems like rashes due to prickly heat and prickly heat rashes and bumps within 3 days.
Nycil Cool Herbal’s unique Germ Fighter Formula has goodness of neem oil and pudina to provide relief from summer skin problems and to keep skin refreshed.
Nycil powder application promises to provide these 5 benefits:
I did try to soothe my summer skin in various ways by drinking loads of water, sipping tender coconut water, wearing mostly cotton clothes with a comfortable fit and putting neem leaves in my bath water, especially to tackle prickly heat rashes. And all this helped me to a great extent.

As for Nycil Cool herbal powder , I sprinkled it on the affected areas twice a day, once after a bath and then in the evenings. As you can see from the picture, the powder is off-white in colour. The fragrance is good too.
A few minutes after application, I felt a cool sensation in those parts and the discomfort and itching reduced almost immediately. I applied it regularly for a week or so and I have to say that it did help to get rid of those reddish bumps due to summer heat and the itching also stopped.
My husband also had a similar experience, but, the only thing is that as soon as he applied the powder, he experienced intense itching. However this was soon followed by cooling sensation and a soothing feeling. And his heat rashes disappeared in a matter of 4-5 days and the itching also was gone.
Mine did take more than a week, though. However the rashes disappeared in a few days of application; the itching persisted for a few more days and so I continued applying for more than a week.
